Amazon Prime Air Expands Drone Delivery to 15 New Cities

Amazon Prime Air has announced a massive expansion of its drone delivery service, adding 15 new metropolitan areas across the United States. The expansion brings total coverage to 35 cities, with the company targeting 50 million potential customers by end of 2026.

The MK30 delivery drone can carry packages up to 5 pounds within a 15-mile radius, achieving delivery times averaging 28 minutes from order placement. New safety features include redundant propulsion systems, parachute recovery mechanisms, and real-time air traffic integration with the FAA's UTM system.

Early adopter cities report customer satisfaction rates exceeding 92%, with the most popular categories being pharmaceuticals, groceries, and electronics accessories. Amazon plans to introduce heavier payload drones capable of carrying 15-pound packages by Q4 2026.
